    2018 Arbitration Ruling - What Are My Costs?

    On May 23, 2018 the Arbitrator ruled in favor of the Carriers. Though he agreed that our “357 Plan” was better for BMWED members, he sided with the Carriers by ruling that the Healthcare plan design changes accepted by 70% of Rail Labor were a “reasonable” settlement that must apply to us as well. The graph below outlines the cash impact to BMWED members on Class 1 freight Railroads.
